6/ GTEX paper [A Quantitative Proteome Map of the Human Body: Cell](https://t.co/HmyMb3XW7a) “5,562 proteins were found to have tissue-specific enrichment across 32 human tissues. The majority of them (3,088) are enriched at the protein but not RNA level.
@RDUnwin @AJ_Brenes @pwilmarth We are exploring this in detail now (the reason why is a short manuscript). The idea here is to explore if two large-scale datasets https://t.co/Xrn66q4OmR from @kusterlab and https://t.co/sN6vZEvi3f from @SnyderShot can be c
@nesvilab Definitely, the method we propose and probably the IBAQ based on precursor TMT MS1 correlate more than the ratio used before in https://t.co/JLPMqaLvJ4 . I also think that based on reporter ion intensities, it can be also faster than computing th

@slavov_n our findings 👆 in brain development may reflect how posttranscriptional regulation is particularly important to pattern evolutionarily advanced tissues like the brain, which is one of the most mRNA-protein discordant tissues in the adult human, a
@tangming2005 Don't forget about the GTEx proteomics data for a variety of human tissues (https://t.co/0GKuUW6CIc)
the relationship between mRNA and protein is complex, and often discordant our developmental analysis points towards observations in the postnatal brain, which is among the most mRNA-protein discordant tissues in the human body https://t.co/vMTwCGVnfB

Protein-level information is much harder to map, but coming from a biologist education, the steps between RNA and protein cannot be ignored (so.many.regulatory.steps). RNAseq is great for certain things but is not the holy grail & end all be all.
