The gender gap is critical for conference organizers to note. Many academic moms out there (including me) struggle to balance parenting and working. Providing resources to support parent attendance at conferences should be an expectation.
When my mother was an oncologist working in the 80s & 90s w/ SEVEN kids under 10, she never got to attend conferences. Our quality time together was in the dept when she was working late, I’d color - she’d finish up charts. @reshmajagsi @MKnoll_MD @JAM
