I put CERS6 on Chr2 in italics because it is not actually in the EGEA. Not for lack of evidence but because we didn't report that locus in Yin et al because while it reached genome-wide significance (5e-8) it didn't reach study-wide significance (7.2e-11).
So this hit for glycerol-3-phosphate at GPD2 wasn't reported in Yin et al. But is it real? https://t.co/kg0hv9nxEa
This GWAS comes from the METSIM genetics metabolomics study of 1391 metabolites in 6136 men. Because of the large number of endpoints we set a significance threshold of 7.2e-11. This GWAS only gets to 6.7e-9: "genome wide significant" but not "study wide"
Including 1,610 associations from Yin et al METSIM metabolon study! https://t.co/kg0hv9EAGa Here's a quick way to find the strongest association in the study: https://t.co/w2Uq6UH9Uf and sort on p-value

The 2 hits in this plot were not reported in our 2022 METSIM metabolon paper This is because while they reached a standard genome-wide significance cutoff of 5e-8, we were studying 1391 metabolites so we applied a stricter cutoff of 7e-11 https://t.co/kg0
